Generalised resistance to glucocorticoid is a rare familial or sporadic disease with partial target tissue insensitivity to glucocorticoids. Compensatory activation of the hypothalamopituitaryadrenal axis occurs with raised andrenocorticotrophic (ACTH) hormone levels and increased synthesis of adrenal steroids.
